01The Building

Historic brick outside. Brand new inside.

Four stories, mid-block on the west side of Vanderbilt between Dean and Bergen — just renovated top to bottom. New kitchens and baths, new systems, new entry, refinished floors, bright modern interiors behind the original brick facade. Two residences and one storefront share the building.

The block sits within the Prospect Heights Historic District. Facades are protected, the streetwall is preserved, and nothing tall is going up next door — so the outside stays classic while everything inside is new.

02Open Streets

Every weekend, the avenue belongs to people on foot.

From spring through fall, Vanderbilt Avenue closes fully to cars on Saturdays and Sundays — over four acres of open street given over to outdoor dining, tables, and programming. It's one of the largest volunteer-run Open Streets in the city, and the only full closure in Brooklyn.

591 sits inside the closure. Step out the front door onto the plaza.

04The Storefront

A storefront that works for a living.

Vanderbilt from Atlantic to Park Place is an eight-block strip of independent restaurants and shops — several with Michelin recognition — and on weekends in season the street closes to cars and fills with people. That foot traffic passes this door.

Glass storefront, private rear outdoor space, a large bathroom, and a 736 sq ft basement. Gas is in the building; the tenant installs their own meter. Suited to food, retail, or gallery use.

05The Neighborhood

Vanderbilt Avenue, and everything off it.

Prospect Heights keeps its scale — brownstone blocks, a protected streetwall, and a restaurant corridor that runs the length of Vanderbilt with almost no chains on it. The 2/3 at Bergen Street is five minutes away; Atlantic Terminal, with nine subway lines and the LIRR, is eight.

Barclays Center is a short walk north — close enough to be useful, far enough not to hear. Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, and the Brooklyn Museum sit fifteen minutes down the avenue.
